Isabelle has a slight adventurous spirit when the situation suites her needs. She is extremely ambitious and would do almost anything to achieve her goals. Occasionally Isabelle can find herself blinded by her ambitious drive, making her impulsive instead of cautious. Her ambition is very enthusiastic and full of energy which can make Isabelle an unstoppable force of nature. Isabelle is clever enough to put her thoughts into action, often accomplishing her goals but can be diverted by her own impatience when the result she wants doesn’t come fast enough to her taste.

After being under her Uncles and Aunts cruel thumbs for most of her childhood, Isabelle adores her own freedom and is willing to do anything to keep it. She has a more take charge kind of nature, Isabelle is extremely unwilling to obey or submit her will to anyone or thing without proper reason. Isabelle is very self-centered; at times she only seems to care about her satisfaction. Most see Isabelle’s immense energy which makes her aggressive, restless, argumentative, headstrong, and hot tempered, easily offended and capable of holding grudges.

She is very frank and direct with everyone she encounters; it is a rare moment that Isabelle would ever censor herself. Isabelle is very intellectual and extremely objective. She is quick-witted but sometimes foolhardy, lacking thoroughness and speaks impulsively. Isabelle does have an iron self-control and discipline, which is a great asset to her. She loves a decent challenge and constantly proves herself beyond what anyone ever expects out of her. Isabelle is fiercely loyal to her brother Jean Tristan and extremely over protective of her two sons. She would literally do anything for her brother and sons, even lay down her life for them.

History:

Blanche Cerys Morgan’s father was a minor Lord whose wife failed to produce him a living male heir by the time their three daughters became of marriageable age. He thought himself fortunate enough to make an ideal match for his second daughter. Vespasien Baptiste Desrosiers as the Lord of Rsyka was an ideal match; he was also a minor Lord but one with wealth and no male heir. He was a widower; his first wife died giving birth to his son and heir. Only the son died two years later forcing Vespasien to look for another wife. Vespasien wasn’t interested in making an important alliance, only a young and beautiful wife to hopefully produce him a son. Blanche happened to fit that perfectly. The forty-six year old Vespasien happily wed his eighteen year old bride Blanche in the year 980 and roughly nine months later she gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby boy they named Jean Tristan.

Isabelle was born two years after her golden brother and named after her father’s favorite sister. It was a great misfortune that Isabelle would never be able to know her real father, because Vespasien died of a heart attack when she was barely two years old. He left behind his four year old son Jean Tristan as the Lord of Rsyka, a beautiful young widow as his mother and two very young daughters, Isabelle and her newborn sister Victoire.

Vespasien’s younger brother Apollinaire became Lord of Rsyka during his nephew’s minority as it was declared in his brother’s will. There was a slight problem with this arrangement, Apollinaire and his siblings hated Blanche, their brother’s young widow. He arranged a second marriage for Blanche with Lord Archibald Campbell of Sola knowing his sister-in-law would happily jump at the chance to marry her childhood sweetheart. They were married in 989, Blanche leaving her children in the care of their father’s family while she embarked on a new one.

The first thing Isabelle could recall as a child was her mother’s abandonment, something she still has not forgiven her for. It became clear after her mother was gone that Isabelle’s life never would be the same again. Her mother adored Isabelle from the moment she was born, often treating her more like a prize trophy than a daughter really. Blanche loved the fact Isabelle was beautiful practically perfect daughter compared to her rather sour older half-sisters; still to Isabelle it was true affection and motherly love. Isabelle worshipped her mother and couldn’t understand her sudden abandonment. To make matters worse, her Uncle didn’t like Isabelle at all. She looked too much like her mother for him to truly want to have any affection for her and Isabelle was Blanche’s favorite.

Barely eight years old, Isabelle was fatherless, motherless and under the cruel eye and care of an indifferent Uncle. Her childhood was gone forever, so was the sweet caring little girl. She started her education along side her brother because her Uncle wanted her to be an intelligent asset to her brother when married. Apollinaire also wanted Isabelle to be a controlled asset as well, knowing she possessed too much of her mother he refused to grant her a marriage which would give her too much power or social standing. Instead he made a match with a respectable noble family who needed a match for their fourth son. Isabelle to her credit kept her head held high as she was destined to become the wife of a fourth son and her sister Victoire was destined to be a lady to a great house. At the age of ten Isabelle learned life could be unfair and cruel, it was a lesson she would never forget.

There was something her Uncle couldn’t take away from her and that was Isabelle’s relationship with her brother Jean Tristan. After their father’s death and mother’s re-marriage, the two became impossibly close, while they both distance themselves from their Uncle. He was quite upset at her marriage because Isabelle was forced to live with her husband’s family but there was nothing Jean Tristan could do about marriage.

Not long after her eighteenth birthday Isabelle was married to Sebastien Loic Paige, a year later she gave birth to a son she named Jean Jacques in the honor of her brother and father. Another son Morgan followed two years later. Isabelle found herself a bit bored with being the wife of Sebastien; he was often traveling for his brother and hardly around when he was home. Still Isabelle enjoyed the freedom this gave her to mingle with his family and be allowed to visit her family as often as she liked. Her husband’s brother was a kind man and Lord. It was in the summer of 1005, when the news of the vessel carrying Sebastien was caught in a terrible storm at sea. It was assumed that Sebastien was dead, his body never to be recovered and perhaps remain lost at sea. *

The sudden death of her husband left Isabelle in a stake of shock and indifference. She didn’t feel over whelming lost at the death of her husband, more of a sense of freedom. After the proper mourning period, Isabelle requested to move back to her home. Her brother-in-law granted this and allowed her to take her sons as well. Although Thibault had yet to marry and produce an heir his brother Claude had plenty of sons and didn’t seem to feel his third brother’s sons were of much importance. *

Isabelle returned to her home happily embraced by her beloved brother Jean Tristan who was now the Lord of Rsyka after the death of their Uncle the year before. Her brother remains unwed and until he marries, Isabelle remains the Lady of Rsyka in everything but name.

Writing Sample:
Occasionally politics were more dull than irksome, this happens to be on of the more dull moments. Isabelle was surrounded by women from respected noble families both great and minor; still they had nothing more thrilling to speak about other than the weather and children. Of course her mother Blanche was there, looking beautiful and pretending that she was happy. Nothing in her demeanor spoke of her failure to give her second husband the desired male heir he needs. Isabelle was curious if her mother had given up all hope, its been seven years since her youngest half-sister Elizabeth Charlotte was born. Seven years and no sign of pregnancy was a seriously bad omen.

The number of different scandals her four step-sisters brought to their father, made it nearly impossible for her step-father to find decent matches for his three daughters with Blanche. Isabelle felt piety for her younger half-sisters; they were not of the House of Desrosiers like she had the fortune of being. If her Uncle wasn’t rule by the grudge he had for Isabelle’s mother, he would have given her a great first marriage. Isabelle was back on the marriage market, and this time her second marriage would be more fruitful than her mother’s. After all she already produced two fine sons and was still young enough to have many more.

Isabelle wasn’t here to make nice with potential mother-in-laws or sister-in-laws, instead she was looking for a decent bride for her beloved brother Jean Tristan. There were many things on Isabelle’s mental list for a suitable match to her brother; beauty and well connected family were on the top. A great alliance for her brother was the most important thing; of course Isabelle wanted someone she could easily control. The wife for her brother was merely a creature Isabelle needed to give him an heir and nothing more. Of course Jean Tristan could embrace his bachelor lifestyle and formally adopted her son Jean Jacques. That idea suited her just fine, if it wasn’t for Jean Tristan sense of family honor; he took his responsibilities far too serious for her taste. Still if he takes a wife and she proves to be unfruitful, well than there was always her healthy and beautiful Jean Jacques. So Isabelle smiled with polite interest and spoke of the beautiful flowers she planned to add to her gardens with her neighbor.
